The Allen-Bradley 509-DOD is a Bulletin 509 NEMA full-voltage non-reversing (direct-on-line) motor starter, rated NEMA Size 3. It combines a line contactor with a eutectic alloy overload relay for motor branch-circuit control.     509-DOD Applications

    Bulletin 509 NEMA starters provide across-the-line (direct-on-line) starting and overload protection for three-phase AC motors. The Size 3 rating fits larger motors typical of pumps, fans and conveyors. Overload heater elements are selected separately to match the motor full-load current. Confirm NEMA size, coil voltage and horsepower rating against the motor and supply before installation.
