This 100FX SFP transceiver plugs into Stratix managed switches and compatible hardware to add Fast Ethernet multimode fiber links. At 1310 nm over 62.5/125 micron fiber it reaches up to 2 km, suiting connections across a plant floor or between nearby areas where copper distance limits and electrical noise are concerns. Digital optical monitoring lets technicians track optical power and diagnose link health. Fiber isolation avoids ground-loop and EMI problems common in industrial environments, and matching FX transceivers should be used at both ends for correct wavelength and media operation.
