Allen-Bradley 1204-TFB2 Reflected Wave Terminator — Motor terminator for reflected wave reduction. Bulletin 1204 reflected wave terminator (reflected wave reduction device) that installs at the motor terminals on long motor cable runs. It limits the reflected-wave voltage peaks and dV/dt stress produced by PWM AC drives, protecting motor insulation on installations using PowerFlex and 1336 family drives..

1204-TFB2 Applications

This Bulletin 1204 reflected wave terminator mounts at the motor terminals to reduce the reflected-wave (standing-wave) voltage that builds up on long cable runs between a PWM AC drive and its motor. By clamping the peak voltage and slowing the rise time at the motor, it protects motor winding insulation from premature failure. It is applied on installations using Allen-Bradley PowerFlex and 1336 family AC drives where cable length between drive and motor is long enough to cause damaging voltage reflections.
